Kanazawa (金沢) is a member of the group of kidnappers who deliver people to Yagiri Pharmaceuticals for their human experiments. His job is to drug their victims with chloroform. His partners are Morita and Asanuma. All three are members of the Dollars.

Kanazawa is a short man, with short messy brown hair and eyes, who wears a pink sweatshirt, beige cargo pants, red sneakers, and small silver studded earrings. His most defining characteristic is his speech as he speaks in a nasally voice.
Synopsis[]
Mika Harima Arc[]
Kanazawa is an accomplice in the kidnapping of Rio Kamichika. When Morita leads Rio to the back of the van, Kanazawa drugs her with chloroform. They drive to a parking garage to deliver the kidnapped girl to the buyer. After waiting for some time, the Black Rider appears. Kanazawa confidently attacks, and Celty drives her bike wheel into his face before she rams his head into a concrete wall with her bike.
Later, Kanazawa and his group kidnap Kaztano from a building where undocumented immigrants have been living. When Kanazawa spills chloroform on himself, all three kidnappers become sleepy. Asanuma and Morita leave Kanazawa behind with Kaztano's cell phone in his pocket. When Kyouhei Kadota calls Kaztano's phone, a passing-by Izaya answers—explaining that he had been leaving Russia Sushi when he heard the phone ringing in Kanazawa's pocket and decided to answer it.
Izaya gets as far as sharing his location before he evades a large object thrown by Shizuo. Bidding Kyouhei a swift goodbye, he throws the phone on top of Kanazawa and runs away.
Kyouhei's gang later locates Kanazawa and uses his phone to call the other two kidnappers and learn their meeting location. Kanazawa wakes up around the time Kyouhei, Erika, Walker, and Saburo are celebrating their success in finding their kidnapped friend; he asks who they are, and the four sing that they are the Dollars before Saburo knocks him unconscious for a second time.
Toramaru Arc[]
Kanazawa is among the group of Dollars members that kidnaps Non, Rio, and their friends. When they present the hostages before Kyouhei and Chikage Rokujou immediately after their fight, Walker sprays fire at them to save the girls. As his fellow thugs fall around him to the combined forces of the Toramaru and Dollars, he attempts to flee but is knocked unconscious by Kyouhei.
Etymology[]
- The name Kanazawa means "gold/metal, money/cash, currency" (金) (kana) and "marsh" (沢) (sawa/zawa).
Trivia[]
- The trio is only seen in the anime. In the first light novel, the group of kidnappers is led by a man named Gassan (ガっさん) who is incapacitated by Celty in the parking garage.
